The New Haven Association for the Education of Young Children

Proudly Presents:

Presenter: Jeanine Fitzgerald

Challenging behaviors are not just a reflection of some emotional or social disturbance in a child.  They are a symptom of an unsolved problem, often related to unmet needs or a lack of skills and resources.  Therefore, we must focus on what a child needs, instead of what an adult or system demands.  It is time we move beyond tradition and see challenging behavior as an opportunity to teach alternative ways to get authentic needs met.  This session helps us do just that.

Jeanine draws on more than 30 years of professional experience to empower teachers and parents to achieve more with children “at risk”. As a certified Human Behavior Consultant and Specialist, and Owner of the Fitzgerald Institute of Lifelong Learning, Jeanine specializes in research-based strategies in educational learning, relationship-building, motivation, preventing the factors that compromise the fulfillment of a child’s maximum potential and implementing positive interventions in “real life” settings. As an author, Jeanine has published the Dance of Interaction and a national training program entitled Education with Insight and is currently working to complete her second and third books, Educating the Heart and Through the Eyes of a Child.
