Greater New Haven Region Chapter of CAEYC

 Public Policy

We collaborate with the CAEYC Public Policy Committee to monitor legislative and administrative policy developments that affect young children, their families, early childhood educators and early care professionals, on the local, state, national and international level.

We strive to keep the general membership informed of policy developments mentioned above by written notices, email, telephone calls, and through membership mailings, as well as announcements at membership meetings.

We collaborate with the CAEYC Public Policy Committee to take responsibility for developing position statements, submitting testimony at public hearings and participating in debates and meetings pertaining to public policy issues relevant to NHAEYC and consistent with NHAEYC's goals and ideals.

NAEYC Position Statements-

NAEYC Position Statements are adopted by the Governing Board to state the Association's position on issues related to early childhood education practice, policy, and/or professional development for which there are controversial or critical opinions. Position statements are developed through a consensus-building approach that seeks to convene diverse perspectives and areas of expertise related to the issue and provide opportunities for members and others to provide input and feedback.
